Teaser Tuesday and Tuesday Teaser (from my WIP)

Teaser Tuesday is hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading. Tuesday Teaser is a twist that Melissa at I Swim For Oceans puts on TT, where you shares a few sentences from your WIP.

Here are the rules: Grab your current read. Open to a random page. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page, and BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!) Share the title & author, too, so that other Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers.

My teaser is from Amber Frost
Amber Frost (The Lost Magic, Book One)

“I had a strange dream last night… and I woke up thinking about you and I felt like I had to know you- like I was meant to.” I blurted out. “That sounded weird.” I added, dropping my gaze in embarrassment. He slid his chair closer to mine and leant towards me, gently reaching out over the empty seat between us and lifting my chin to raise my eyes to his. His fingers felt soft and smooth, and very warm.
“Don’t be so afraid of the truth,” he encouraged. His eyes were a dark black-blue now, twinkling mysteriously. “And just so you know – I like weird,” he added with a playful grin, pulling his hand back to his desk before I had time to lean away.

And now from my WIP (Fractured)

I think about how I am given a fresh start here at college. No one knows that I used to be an introvert that mostly stuck to myself. I have a clean slate and I can fill it how I choose. What I do, who I meet, and how I choose to respond determines how I am viewed; rather than school back at home, where mistakes and identities follow you around with your classmates since kindergarten.

  3. I've read mixed reviews for Amber Frost, but I really like this teaser.

I hadn't realized your WIP took place in college. YAY! There are not enough college-aged YA MC's out there right now.
