Review: Whispers at Moonrise by C.C. Hunter

Whispers at Moonrise (Shadow Falls, #4)

Whispers at Moonrise (Shadow Falls #4) by C.C. Hunter
Shadow Falls Camp is back in session with the most explosive installment yet. A shocking new threat will rock Shadow Falls—changing it forever and altering Kylie’s journey in ways she never imagined.
Even at a camp for supernatural teens, Kylie Galen has never been normal. Not only can she see ghosts, but she doesn’t seem to belong to any one species—she exhibits traits from them all. As Kylie struggles to unlock the secrets of her identity, she begins to worry that Lucas will never be able to accept her for what she is, and what she isn’t…a werewolf. With his pack standing in their way, Kylie finds herself turning more and more to Derek, the only person in her life who’s willing to accept the impossible.
As if life isn’t hard enough, she starts getting visits from the ghost of Holiday, her closest confidante. Trouble is, Holiday isn’t dead…not yet anyway. Now Kylie must race to save one of her own from an unseen danger before it’s too late—all while trying to stop her relationship with Lucas from slipping away forever. In a world of constant confusion, there’s only one thing Kylie knows for sure. Change is inevitable and all things must come to an end…maybe even her time at Shadow Falls.
The breathtaking fourth installment of the New York Times bestselling Shadow Falls series from author C. C. Hunter...Whispers at Moonrise.

Blkosiner's Book Blog review
Whispers at Moonrise is a great addition to the Shadow Falls series. I love Kylie more and more as the books go on as she demonstrates her loyalty and her willingness to sacrifice for her friends.
All though she is headstrong and makes some decisions that I do not quite agree with, I don't know if I would do anything differently if I were actually in her position and it would also not really add action, suspense and drama to the story. It isn't a complaint, just an observation.
Also, I am completely over Lucas in this book. I am sold on Derek and I am not sure if Lucas can do anything to redeem himself in my eyes. Sure they have hot moments, and there is the history, but he keeps treating her like she is beneath him, and while I understand that he is trying to change things, I do not think that Kylie's heart being crushed is worth it.
There is a small cast of new characters, some of whom I didn't know if I should trust, and with all of the secrecy going on there were even some long standing characters that I began to question, although one in particular totally redeemed themself and made me feel horrible for my doubt.
Bottom Line: Gripping addition to my current addictive series.
My question to you, my lovely readers:
Would you prefer to have only one supernatural trait and control it well or a blend that only comes to you in times of need?

  1. hmm, that is a difficult one! I suppose it would be good to have one power that you could use all the time like telekinesis, but then it would be better to have some other power if you were to find yourself falling out a plane without a parachute!
This book sounds interesting, I'm planning on buying the first in the series and trying it out!

  2. Great review this series sounds like a lot of fun and I really want to meet these boys! lol!

  3. I love this cover and I really need to try this series!

  4. Have not read any of this series. Too many books!

  5. I've read the first book and so need to catch up to the rest. Not liking the sound of Lucas at all. :(

We all have a supernatural trait. Mine is collecting tons of books that I want to read. Anyone else have that trait? ;)

  6. I think every individual is unique and even when a person has just one supernatural trait, it still depends on that person to bring out its full potential. I believe that wanting to bring out one's full potential also applies to those who can summon power(s) in times of need.

Glad to learn that you loved this book :) I'll probably read this when book five is about to come out. Great review!

  7. I've heard of this series, but have never read it. I like the idea of a camp for supernatural teens though. Super cool!

  8. I have the first 3 need to order this one and start reading series ASAP.

I would love to have a Supernatural trait that I could control and use at will, just not sure which one I would pick!

  9. I haven't read this series, but I have heard a lot about it and I'm so glad you enjoy it so much. It's always a positive when books keep getting better and better, so I might just have to check this out. Great review! :)

  10. We have this in our library, but not the first two books, I have to ask if they can get books 1 and two and maybe I'll follow the series.

Of course I want more superpowers, but I want the tele ones: telepath, telekenesis etc.

Thanks for stopping by my post the other day Momma! xoxo!

  11. I'm not sure which option I'd choose.

I've heard such great things about this series. I really need to give it a try. Glad hog liked it!

  12. I have heard this series is great and I see it everywhere! I'll definitely have to get to it one of these days!

  13. Lovely review! I really like this series. I agree that she makes some choices that I wonder about and I am so over Lucas as well. Old follower :D Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven

  14. I would rather have one trait I can control well.

    Great review.

This series is new to me.

  15. Have not read any of these, but glad you enjoy them.

as for your question- I'd want one trait I could control well. I think that would be more worthwhile.

  16. I have to start reading this series! I haven't read it yet but I've only heard great things about it. I'm happy that this one didn't disappoint you :) Great review :)
