Shelf of Awesome

Shelf of Awesome

This is an idea that I have seen posted at a few blogs, started at Wit and Sin

"The Shelf of Awesome is a shelf of books that, in brief, inspire me. No, you won’t find any “inspirational” books on The Shelf of Awesome. By inspire I mean these books are the ones that always inspire me to write, to read, to imagine, to love, to smile, and to find happiness."

So I decided to turn it into a list-- Here are mine

1- Twilight (don't judge. It got me seriously back into reading after a few years of not reading hardly anything)
2- Harry Potter (the magic and the storytelling)
3-Light of Asteria (really awesome picture of love)
4- Hunger Games (gripping and suspense)
5-Forbidden (the ending has stayed with me)
6. City of Bones
7. Vampire Academy

So-- If you had to chose 5-10 for your shelf of awesome-- what would you chose?
Feel free to make your own post and use Mr. Linky or just comment! I would love to see other's choices!

  1. I'd have to really think about this one, but I know Twilight would be on it. I'm pretty sick of it now, with all the hype and all these books being called a rip-off of Twilight, but I loved it at one time. And it was also what got me into reading YA. It opened up a whole world of books to me, that I had no idea even existed. I'd always read mystery/suspense, and romance, even as a young teen.

Anywho, I think I may do this tomorrow! :D

  4. Definitely true about Twilight. It got me back into YA - I'd read a lot of YA before, but Twilight really ramped that up. And Twilight along with HP got me into fantasy and paranormal.

  8. Hello! Just discovered your blog through Pen & Paper - I love the Shelf of Awesome idea! I hope to do my own post on this soon, but off the top of my head, my Shelf of Awesome would have to include Scarlett by Alexandra Ripley, The Three Fates by Nora Roberts, Eight Cousins by Louisa May Alcott, Her Father's Daughter and A Girl of the Limberlost by Gene Stratton-Porter, and Clearing Away Clouds by Stephen M. Fabian. Can't wait to come back and see more great posts!
