Thank you for taking the time to interview with us, and for the contest!

--How did you get the idea for the story?

I was inspired primarily by the need to convey a message. Last year, I was betrayed by a very religious friend who acted contrary to the tenants of his religion. Thus, I wanted to convey that actions speak louder than words through Logic of Demons. In addition, I was going through other issues as well and desired to communicate my view of spirituality. Namely, that the basis of all religions is being able to look at yourself in the mirror and be at peace with who you are as a person and how you’ve affected other people. A person can know every bible verse in the world, but if they look in the mirror and know that they’ve hurt others emotionally or physically, then it’s just rhetoric. Positive actions speak louder than any type of written word in my view, and this is the message I wanted to convey through Logic of Demons.
--Which character would you most/least like to have dinner with?
I’d like to have dinner with Natalia, since she’s a beautiful Angel who loves life, the world, and humanity.

--What are some of your favorite books? Do you still have much time to read?
Well, I read mostly non-fiction. I was inspired greatly to write Logic of Demons by two books in particular:  On Killing: The Psychological Cost of Learning to Kill in War and Society by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman and God is Not Great, by Christopher Hitchens. Both books dive into human nature and man’s capacity to inflict cruelty in a very profound manner. Dave Grossman’s book analyzes the psychological and emotional impact of war. Christopher Hitchens’ does the same thing, but with various religions.

--If a fairy godmother told you your life could be like a favorite book for 24 hours, which book would you pick and why?
I’d pick George Orwell’s 1984, primarily because it is such an amazing account of how words and minds can be manipulated.

--Do you need anything to write (music, coffee, etc)? Are there any songs on your book’s playlist-" songs that inspired you or that were playing while you wrote?
I don’t usually write with music in the background. Rather, I put the TV on, but make sure it’s a show like “The Golden Girls” or something that I enjoy, but isn’t so interesting as to be distracting (just something in the background that can keep me company).

--If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
I would choose to fly, like Superman. I think that would be amazing.

--Besides writing, what do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy sports, hanging out with friends and family, and politics. I also like walking around a bookstore or library – I feel like I’m learning through osmosis in a way, just by being near books.

--Is there anything else you want to add or say to your readers?
I just want readers to enjoy the story and hopefully see the world in a better light. Mainly, I would like people to know that if there is a God, he’ll judge people on actions, not beliefs. I’ve always been told that actions speak louder than words. If you can look in the mirror and know that you’ve done the best to act according to beliefs that correlate with treating others like you want to be treated, then that’s the best anyone can do as a human being. Logic of Demons touches upon this philosophy and worldview.
