"Seventeen-year-old Teagan McNeel falls for captivating Garreth Adams and soon discovers that her crush has an eight-point star etched into the palm of his right hand-the mark of an angel.

But where there is light, dark follows, and she and Garreth suddenly find themselves vulnerable to a dark angel's malicious plan that could threaten not only her life, but the lives of everyone she knows, and now, she is torn between one angel's sacrifice and another angel's vicious ambition.

Divinely woven together, Angel Star takes readers on a reflective journey when one angel's sacrifice collides with another angel's vicious ambition in a way that is sure to have readers searching for their own willpower."

*My review*

This was an awesome read. Murgia has created a world that sucked me in and made me wish that I were a part. Teagan is a great protagonist, and I really connected with her. She has such a brave heart, and is self sacrificing, she makes me want to be more like her. Garreth is a wonderful literary crush- he is funny, eccentric, and focused only on her-- what more can you ask for?

I did feel that their relationship developed rather quickly, but there is great reason for this given in the book, but no spoilers!

Teagan's mom was present and involved, which is a pleasant plus in the YA genre. This is a fresh take on angels, and I tore through this book and am eager for the next. I am really sad about some of the choices made and consequences of those choices but I can see how it happened, and why it needed to happen.

I would love to hear what you think and if you have reviewed, feel free to link and I will check it out.

  1. I absolutely LOVE Angel Star! The romance is great and I, too, like the fact that her mom is present. :-) Glad you enjoyed it! I hope you enjoy Lemniscate!

  2. I haven't heard a lot about this book, but now hearing it it does sounds great. I like stories involving angels and this sounds a bit different than all the other ya books out there. Great review.
