Interview with Debbie Davies author of Any Love But Mine

Any Love But Mine
Any Love But Mine by Debbie Davies

The gods forbade her to love, but love is a powerful force ....
Acacia has been created purely for Eros' pleasure but discovers within moments of being summoned into his presence that he has no interest in her whatsoever.
Rejected, she is banished to Earth to serve as Eros' minion with the task of promoting the blissful state of love among all those around her, a state she must never indulge in with a human being herself on pain of immediate destruction.
And then comes Josh, someone whose power of attraction over Acacia is so intense she will find it utterly impossible to resist him.
But is he human? Is he a god? Or is he a trick of the gods?
And what would happen should they kiss?

Our Interview:

--The Twitter version: tell us about your book in 140 characters or less.
Any love but mine tells you the story of one girls (well goddesses) struggle to live the life she deserves and finding love in a screwed up world! But with secrets, deception and every type of immortal watching all her moves, she quickly realizes that all love leads to war.

--How did you get the idea for the story?
I love greek mythology and one of my favorite myths is of Eros and Psyche and I just thought what if it didn’t go that way? From there my imagination went into overdrive and my Erosians were born.
--Which character would you most/least like to have dinner with?
Most like to would be Luca (read the book you’ll know why) least like to would probably be, the obvious choice would be Hades but I'm going to say Hera. Hera is very self obsessed and I don’t think she’d be much company.

--What are some of your favorite books? Do you still have much time to read?
My favorite series are The Demon Trappers by Jana Oliver. I always have time to read, this week I’ve read a book a day  and I have a to be read list that is getting longer and longer!
--Do you have any other works in progress? Any teasers or release dates?

I do have the outline to the sequel to Any love but mine and a couple of chapters written but no planned release dates as of yet!

--If a fairy godmother told you your life could be like a favorite book for 24 hours, which book would you pick and why?
Erm…..could I have a chapter an hour from 24 of my favorite books???? If I had to pick one and only one I’d pick Divergent because it’s a different world and I’d like to meet Four and eat some of the cake they go on about. I’d hope my 24hours would be up though before any of the fighting parts.

--Do you need anything to write (music, coffee, etc)? Are there any songs on your playlist- songs that inspired you or that were playing while you wrote?
I like peace and quiet when I write, there’s always enough going on in my head without any other distractions but music was a huge influence for a lot of the chapters in my book. I would listen to a song and then write a chapter in no time from the songs inspiration. The dance scene in my book was completely inspired by Pixie Lotts ‘Dance with the enemy’ and a lot of the more romantic scenes were influenced by 30 seconds to mars especially the darker ones towards the end of the book.

--If you could have any superpower what would you choose?

Invisibility!
--Besides writing, what do you like to do in your free time?

I have an 18month old little boy who takes up all my free time; he’s very energetic so we’re usually outdoors somewhere with me chasing after him.

--Is there anything else you want to add or say to your readers?
Thank you to anyone and everyone who buys a copy of Any love but mine; I hope you enjoy it, I hope you fall in love with at least one character and hate at least two! And always believe that dreams can come true.

Lightning round: this or that?
Vanilla or chocolate?  Chocolate and lots of it!

Hockey or soccer?       Erm…..hockey?
Ebook or paper?        Paper
Salty or sweet?            Sweet

  1. Wow this book sounds insanely awesome! Thanks for the amazing giveaway! I love how it comebines two of my biggest loves in a book: Greek mythology and romance.

Also thanks for the interview! I totally laughed at this comment:

"I hope you fall in love with at least one character and hate at least two!"

It's true though. Sometimes we love to hate characters just as much as we love to love them!

I hope I can read this book sometime soon, regardless of whether I win the giveaway or not :)

  5. Well, I'm definitely impressed with your ability to read a book a day and still be a writer! I can hardly find time to read for an hour or two each day and then I fall asleep! Guess I must be getting old! Anyway, I do think I would like this book because Greek mythology has always held a great fascination for me. I might even be able to stay awake while I read Any Love But Mine!
