Giveaway and Interview: Beyond the Eyes by Rebekkah Ford
Paige knows evil exists in this world, but she never imagined it would want something from her.
After a ghostly voice whispers a haunting message to seventeen-year-old Paige Reed, Paige’s life takes a nightmarish turn. Unwilling to tell her friends about the supernatural occurrences happening in her life, Paige feels more alone than ever–until she meets Nathan Caswell.
Nathan is not only hot, but seems to peer into Paige’s soul, evoking a magnetic energy between them that cannot be denied. But he’s no ordinary guy. He tracks dark spirits, and becomes alarmed when they set their sights on Paige.
And then there are the two power-hungry dark spirits who believe Paige can find King Solomon’s magical ring for them, because when her father was alive, he was close to finding it. If Paige doesn’t comply with their demands, they’ll kill her.
Paige is forced to dig deep into her father’s past and unearths shocking secrets about him and his bloodline. With the past and present colliding, Paige is only sure about two things in her life: she needs to outwit the dark spirits to stay alive, and she’s completely and helplessly in love with Nathan.

Tell us about your book in 140 characters or less.

A ghostly voice whispers a haunting message to seventeen-year-old Paige Reed, changing her life forever.

How did you get the idea for the story?

Well, one day I told my husband that I had a lot of stories stuffed in my head, but I couldn’t figure out which one to write. He told me to write something I’ve always been freaked out about. The movie The Exorcist has always freaked me out, so I took that idea, along with some other ideas, and created this story.

Which character would you most/least like to have dinner with?

I’d like to have dinner with ‘the old one.’ I know he’s a malevolent being, but I’m curious to find out why he’s that way and what he knows. I’m also aware he’s manipulative, but I’m confident in myself to know if he were being that way or not.

Do you have any other works in progress? Any teasers or release dates?

Yes. I’m revising and working with my editor on my second book to this YA paranormal series (Dark Spirits). I don’t have a release date yet . . . Teaser? Here’s one . . . Strap on your seatbelts because you’re going on one creepy ride with this next book.

What are some of your favorite books? Do you still have much time to read?

1984–by George Orwell

Interview With The Vampire–by Anne Rice

The Stand–by Stephen King

The Hunger Games–by Suzanne Collins

Shiver–by Maggie Stiefvater

Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone–by J.K. Rowling

I make time to read, but I have to admit, I don’t have as much time as I’d like.

If a fairy godmother told you that you could be put into the world of your favorite book for 24 hours, which book would you pick and why?

Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone because I love that world. I would though, feel uncomfortable being the only Muggle there, but then again, maybe nobody would know.

If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?

Teleportation.

Besides writing, what do you like to do in your free time?

Reading, watching movies, taking walks, going to antique shops, going out to eat, hanging out at bookstores and coffee shops. Having deep, mind-blowing conversations, whether it’s philosophical, theological, paranormal, etc., it’s all good.

What is one thing you would tell your 15 year old self?

Focus on your writing because it makes you happy, and it’s possible you can do this for a living.

Is there anything else you want to add or say to your readers?

Yes, that the second book (Dark Spirits) is much darker than the first book. In Beyond the Eyes, the MC Paige had to deal with her emotional baggage in order to move onto the next phase of her life, and in Dark Spirits, the reader will get to experience her transformation and growth . . . I’d also like to thank them for reading this series. It really means a lot to me, and I appreciate them more than words can convey.

  1. I have to admit that this cover sort of scares me. I try so hard not to judge my books by their covers, but look at it! lol

However, I do like the blurb. I'm so conflicted with this one, but thank you for introducing it to me!
