In the mayhem that is now Aurora’s life the only constant is Sebastian, the stoic vampire assigned to protect her. Nothing ever seems to affect him. Violence and politics are his life. Yet when an ancient curse starts killing Aurora slowly, he is willing to go to unimaginable lengths to save her.
Could she have changed him the way he changed her? And how far are they both willing to go together so they can have the happy ending they both deserve?

interview with Blkosiner's Book Blog

--The Twitter version

--How did you get the idea for the story?
I was watching TV. The vampires claimed to “live in secret”. I was like, “How do they travel without a Passport? How did they get a driving license/buy a house without an identity?”

--Which character would you most/least like to have dinner with?
MOST: Alexander, Sebastian’s estranged brother and the family scientist/genius and rebel. I’d love to ask him if he’s ever been in love.
LEAST: Aurora’s office intern who flirts with her boss. I don’t respect women who don’t respect themselves.

--Do you have any other works in progress? Any teasers or release dates?
Book 2 in the Vampire Code series will be out in December 2013, but I’m also working on a stand-alone about a cryogenically frozen woman who wakes up in the future.

--What book(s) is your book’s “cousin”? (Similar kind of read, set-up or style)
I’ll quote my beta-reader and say a mash-up of “Sex and the City” and “True Blood” would make a good cousin.

--What are some of your favorite books? Do you still have much time to read?
I always find time to read. I read instead of sleeping. At the moment I’m into new and indie authors, for obvious reasons.

--If a fairy godmother told you could be put into the world of your favorite book for 24 hours, which book would you pick and why?
I’d love to spend a day with Aurora in “The Vampire Code”.  After a day at work we’d rendezvous with Sebastian and his family to plot against the KKK and the Resistance.
--Do you need anything to write (music, coffee, etc)? Are there any songs on your playlist- songs that inspired you or that were playing while you wrote?
Silence. Absolute, complete and perfect silence. I have three kids, so silence is truly golden.

--If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
I wish I didn’t need to sleep anymore. Imagine how much I’d get done in a day!

--Besides writing, what do you like to do in your free time?
I like to read and do research. I love learning for the sake of learning. I’ll research anything that catches my fancy. I recently researched what’s hidden behind the label of the bottled water we drink at home.

--What is one thing you would tell your 15 year old self?
You’re not fat. You’re actually skinny. You’re not ugly, you just need to blow-dry your hair. And that guy you fancy actually fancies you back you klutz!

--Is there anything else you want to add or say to your readers?
Aurora, my heroine, is clever and tough, but also young, and the young make mistakes. Watch her learn from them and from Sebastian’s experience and wisdom, and love her for it.

Lightning round: this or that?
Vanilla or chocolate? Chocolate
Edward or Jacob? Edward
Hockey or soccer? Soccer
Ebook or paper? Paper, autographed.
Salty or sweet? Salty
Beach or mountains? Beach, always and forever!
Phone call or email? Email
Early bird or night owl? Night owl
Dog or cat? Dog
Messy or neat? Neat
