Giveaway: Aversion and author interview Kenechil Udogu

Aversion by Kenechil Udogu
Book one of The Mentalist series
For Gemma Green’s first time, things should have been straightforward. Find your subject, hold their gaze and push a thought into their head to save them from future disaster – Aversion complete. A pretty simple process given that the subject was to have no recollection of the experience. But Russ Tanner doesn’t seem to want to forget. In fact the more she tries to avoid him, the more he pushes to get to know her. Gemma knows she has a problem but is she facing the side effects of a failed Aversion or has the school’s tennis champ really fallen for her?

Author BioKenechi lives in London and enjoys writing fantasy/paranormal fiction and short stories (some of which she posts on her blog). She also hates the cold and hopes to one day figure out how to hibernate in winter.

My Top Ten Fantasy/Paranormal TV Shows

By Kenechi Udogu

I love shows where characters have superpowers or abilities that distinguish them from regular folk. Telepathy, super strength, invisibility, immortality, time control, the ability to fly – then throw in a healthy dose of bad guys with world domination ambitions and I’m completely hooked. Without a doubt, these shows influence my thought process when I create characters for my own books and I’m grateful to all the writers out there who have made my imagination a much livelier place. That’s why I’ve decided to share my top ten fantasy/paranormal shows with you. I should probably note that the ones I’ve chosen aired in the last ten years or are still on our tellies so, even though they are brilliant, there’s no mention of The Twilight Zone or The X-Files. Also, because I constantly change my mind as each season airs, the shows are only listed in alphabetical order (no one gets to win top prize because I pretty much love them all the same - sort of). Enjoy!

1. Fringe

Walter or Walternate? Need I say more? Alright, alright, Olivia had the powers in this one but Walter was far more interesting to watch.

2. Grimm

I’m a huge fan of fairytale retellings (I even wrote one a few year ago – The Other Slipper) so loving this show was a no brainer. I can’t wait to see where they take the storyline.

3. Heroes

Because if I could, I’d have both Peter Petrelli’s and Hiro Nakamura’s powers at the same time. Plus I’d also probably marry Peter Petrelli and we’d have superhuman babies. Bliss!

4. Lost

Probably the most confusing and confused show I’ve ever watched but it had me tuning in every week right till the very last polar bear faded from our screens.

5. Misfits

Brilliant show set in London about delinquent teens who suddenly acquire superpowers after a freak storm. If you haven’t seen it, go buy the box set now! I dare you not to love Simon.

6. Once Upon A Time

Now, what did I say about fairytales? Yeah, love them. Favourite character has to be Henry. There is so much hope in the little boy.

7. Smallville

Alright, I’ll admit I spent far too much time salivating over Tom Welling to follow most of the plot twist in this one, but it was good most of the time.

8. Teen Wolf

Is it weird that Stiles is my favourite character in this even though he has no powers? Wit can work wonders.

9. True Blood

Vampires, shifters, ghosts, fairies, werewolves, gods, witches and warlocks. Even though this show just gets more ridiculous as each season airs, I can’t stop watching it. Suggestions on how to break the habit would be welcome.

10. The Vampire Diaries

Team Damon all the way! Sorry Stefan, he’s just way cooler. (Elena who?)
