Giveaway and Interview: Blue Violet, Hyacinth and Crimson Dahlia by Abigail Owen

Blue Violet (Svatura, #1)
Blue Violet (Svatura #1) by Abigail Owen
When Ellie Aubrey leaves her only remaining family and moves to Colorado, she knows she's risking her life. But she can't ignore the possibility of what she might find there. What she didn't expect to encounter was a bewildering connection to one smolderingly sexy Alex Jenner. But when Ellie's worst nightmare comes true and threatens to destroy everything she holds dear, she must fight to save those she loves most. Even if it means sacrificing herself by revealing a terrible truth... sometimes not all monsters are make believe.
Exceptionally imaginative and magically romantic, Blue Violet delivers equal parts fantasy, romance, and suspense.
Hyacinth (Svatura, #2)  Hyacinth by Abigail Owen
Selene sacrificed everything when she took her brother’s place as ruler of the Vyusher, including her secret love for her one-time adversary Griffin Aubrey. When nightmares that are just a little too real start, Selene fears she’s turned into a cold-blooded killer…the monster that Griffin thinks she is.
Griffin and Ellie Aubrey are finally safe for the first time in over a hundred years. But when an unknown menace drives Selene to leave her family and ask for help, Griffin must decide. Can he move past his hatred of everything she is? Or will the bond that could bring them both the greatest joy now be the source of their deepest despair?
The threat of the danger stalking Selene in her dreams might be too much even for this powerful group. And Griffin doesn’t want to easily forgive the woman he blames for killing his family…
Crimson Dahlia (Svatura, #3) Crimson Dahlia

interview with Blkosiner's Book Blog
--The Twitter version: tell us about your book in 140 characters or less.
Girl meets boy. Turns out girl has special powers and saves his family from the people who killed hers. Turns out he has some powers himself.
--How did you get the idea for the story?
I started with an idea for a single scene. One where the heroine saves a group of her friends from wolf-shifters, but in the process reveals her own identity as someone who has extraordinary powers.
--Which character would you most/least like to have dinner with?
I’d most like to have dinner with Ellie. She’s fun and outgoing. And she has a long and very interesting history, despite the fact that she only looks eighteen or so.
--Do you have any other works in progress? Any teasers or release dates?
The second book in the Svatura series – Hyacinth – is already out. The third book in the series – Crimson Dahlia - is set for release at the end of August – so any day now. Book 4 – the final book in the series is scheduled for next February. In between, I’m hoping to get the first book of a mountain-lion shifter series out. Crossed fingers!
--What are some of your favorite books? Do you still have much time to read?
I read voraciously. At least a book a week, usually two or three. I tend to favor the paranormal romance genre the most. However, I enjoy anything from the classics (although I prefer British classics over American), to poetry, to young adult, to historical, to romance. I’m mostly a fiction reader.
--If a fairy godmother told you could be put into the world of your favorite book for 24 hours, which book would you pick and why?
Wow – tough question! I’d have to say it’s a toss-up between Pride and Prejudice (I just love that era - the language, the clothes, the conventions - and Mr. Darcy of course) and Harry Potter (because of the incredible world building in that series).
--If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
Telekinesis.Hands down. I wouldn’t want telepathy – it comes with some handy features, but in general I’d rather not know people’s thoughts. But to be able to move anything around that I want – including myself – would be awesome!
--Besides writing, what do you like to do in your free time?
I am a mother of 2 younger kiddos so a lot of my time is spent doing family things – lots of swimming, hiking, games, coloring. I just finished my MBA so the last year or so has been filled to overflowing with that. Reading is a passion. I love movies almost as much as reading. And I enjoy running (although I’m terribly slow).
--What is one thing you would tell your 15 year old self?
Don’t worry about what other people think. You probably won’t remember most of them down the road anyway, so what does it matter? Dress/act/think the way you do because you’re you. Not to fit in or win favor, but because you’re unique. And that’s awesome.
--Is there anything else you want to add or say to your readers?
A huge thank you for taking a chance on an indie author. Your support and encouragement have been unexpected and incredible and have helped me turn this hobby into a passion.
