Giveaway and Interview: The Wanderers by Jessica Miller

The Wanderers
The Wanderers (The Wanderers #1) by Jessica Miller
What do you do when you learn your family is the one who's holding all the secrets? Secrets that could get you killed...
Ella is looking forward to starting college in the fall with her best friend Josie. She’s looking for a place where she can get away from her overbearing parents and two older annoying brothers. Unfortunately Ella realizes that sometimes the past comes back to haunt you.
Ella soon learns that the man who terrorizes her dreams is in fact real and coming after her.
When one of her classmates is murdered, Ella slowly recognizes this is not some strange coincidence. Ella fears that the boy she’s falling in love with is the one who stalks her dreams and no longer knows who she can trust.
When she finally learns the truth of her family’s deepest secret, Ella has to face her demons by taking out one of the people she thought she could trust…before they kill her.

interview with Blkosiner's Book Blog
--The Twitter version: tell us about your book in 140 characters or less.
The Wanderers is a YA Paranormal Romance that takes you on a journey through the eyes of a young girl who is about to embark on her first year of college. Follow Ella and discover along with her that there’s a lot more to college life than she anticipates. Hot boys, mysterious incidents, and murder…
--How did you get the idea for the story?
I wanted to do something different so I tried to think outside the box. I did some research on folklores and history of vampires and just kind of went from there. I outlined the story knowing what I wanted to do and where I wanted it to go. I started writing and it just kind of spilled out as I went.
--Which character would you most/least like to have dinner with?
Tristan would be the one who I would love to have dinner with. He’s one of my favorite characters and I had a lot of fun writing him. He’s very charismatic and carefree. If he existed in real life I would be first in line to snag him up.
As for least to dine with I would have to say Ella’s dad. Talk about a tense dinner.
--Do you have any other works in progress? Any teasers or release dates?
I am currently working on a new adult contemporary romance, a young adult fantasy trilogy, and the next installment in The Wanderers series – Unforgiven (wanderers #3). Unfortunately I cannot give any release dates because well, I have no idea. I also learned life has a habit of getting in the way and I can’t always promise I’ll have everything ready by a certain time. I’m hoping very soon I can put up some teasers for the upcoming books. So keep an eye on my blog over the next month or so for the latest teasers.
--What are some of your favorite books? Do you still have much time to read?
There are too many to list but I really enjoy reading young adult paranormal and new adult romance. Favorite series is Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead and I cannot wait for the movie! I’m a night time reader (before bed) so I still get to read at night but not as much as I used to.

--If a fairy godmother told you could be put into the world of your favorite book for 24 hours, which book would you pick and why?
I would have to say The Immortals by Alyson Noel. They can manifest anything they want. Who wouldn’t want to be able to that? You would basically have anything you wanted at your disposal. It would be like having your very own wishing tree.

--Do you need anything to write (music, coffee, etc)? Are there any songs on your playlist- songs that inspired you or that were playing while you wrote?
Music is a big influence when I write, which is why I have a playlist at the end of all The Wanderers books. Most of the songs that inspired scenes in the books are on the playlists. There might be one or two songs I had on loop while I wrote a particular scene. Sometimes I like to just sit back and listen to a song and imagine the next scene in my head play out to the music. When not listening to music I have the TV on. I need noise in the background. Silence scares me and drives me nuts.

--If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
I would want the power to transport myself anywhere because if Icould I would be lying on a beach right now instead of dealing with negative degree weather, rain, ice, and snow. Blah.

--Besides writing, what do you like to do in your free time?
Free time, what is that? Lol. My free time is usually spent sleeping or reading.
--What is one thing you would tell your 15 year old self?
Do your damn homework and ignore those bullies because one day everything will work itself out.

--Is there anything else you want to add or say to your readers?
I hope you enjoy the books as I had writing them. I love writing and have never ending ideas. I love being able to express myself in a way that I can bring joy to others. I love hearing from my readers so don’t be afraid to drop me a line.
