Fade Out (The Morganville Vampires #7) by Rachel Caine
Without the evil vampire Bishop ruling over the town of Morganville, the resident vampires have made major concessions to the human population. With their newfound freedoms, Claire Danvers and her friends are almost starting to feel comfortable again…
Now Claire can actually concentrate on her studies, and her friend Eve joins the local theatre company. But when one of Eve’s castmates goes missing after starting work on a short documentary, Eve suspects the worst. Claire and Eve soon realize that this film project, whose subject is the vampires themselves, is a whole lot bigger—and way more dangerous—than anyone suspected.

I wanted to read Fade Out because as you know if you have been following my reviews for last month of so, I have been bitten by the Morganville Vampire series bug. I love Claire and her relationship with Shane, Eve and Michael. The friendship between Claire and Eve is tested a bit in this one, but glad to see it is realistic and see how they work it out.
Karen at For What It's Worth and Mary at The Book Swarm occasionally post twitter-style reviews. Karen calls hers Short and Tweet, and I am going to borrow that review style here.
Devoured it. Love the plot twists + hot moments between C&S. The alliances/ trusts shifts- the gray area of friend or foe changes so much.Bottom Line: Another great addition that kept me guessing plus the romance made me happy.
My question to you, my lovely readers:
Have you ever done theater?
I believe this is where I left the series (either this one or the next) I felt it should've left it with the way it all finished up in the last one. I've done school theatre, but that's about it, haha.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to read these this summer. Glad you're still enjoying :)

UGH I remember really disliking Kim in this one. She's over-the-top. I did like the whole Ada thing thrown in and the questioning of Michael's loyalties.
ReplyDeleteSaying that you have caught the Morganville Vampire series bug is a gross understatement. I don't think I've ever seen anyone fly through this many installments in such a short amount of time AND review them. I've never done theater, and I'd like to keep it that way. LOL!
ReplyDeleteCarmel @ Rabid Reads
I'm glad you continue to love this. How does the web series stack to the books?
ReplyDeleteGlad to read that you loved this one! Guess I really need to check out The Morganville Vampires series!
ReplyDeleteLovely review!
I remember you doing a review in this style a while before! I recently read a book where the alliances were always shifting, and I love it because you never know where things are going to stand, and who with who. Sounds good to me!
ReplyDeleteEveryone absolutely adores this series Brandi! I'm not surprised you were sucked in too ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed this. As for doing theater, I was in one play in 8th grade. I love plays and musicals, but I'm shy being in front of people.

I still need to read this series. It is on my list to try!
ReplyDeleteAwesome binge reading :)
ReplyDeleteYeah for you tearing right through this series.
ReplyDeleteGosh if only I can be short and sweet like you I wouldn't be stressing out on writing my reviews!
ReplyDeleteWow! Love this short and tweet review idea! At least you can get the main points in a few words!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are still enjoying this series!

I'm so glad you're still loving this series!
ReplyDeleteA friend just mentioned to me that she needs a good vampire series (she is obsessed with them). I haven't read this, but I trust your judgement and I will pass this series on to her. Thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed this one...it is fun when a series grabs you like this
ReplyDeleteit been a while since i read a vampire book, you are making me to want to read one, glad you enjoyed this book :)
ReplyDeleteFriendship surviving all odds is a great thing to see and yay for a well-done romance!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteI don't remember this one for some reason. Even if I skipped it, I love how you can pick up any of the books in the series and instantly get drawn into the plot.
ReplyDeleteI left off at book 12 in the series. I really need to read the last few books. Matt @ JC's Book Haven.
ReplyDeleteOk, totally irrelevant, but the dashed lines look like i they are moving, and I just realized I was following them with my eyes like a demented cat. So thanks for that!
ReplyDeleteNow relevant? I am not so hot on vampires right now myself, but I'm glad you are enjoying them!
I listened to Glass House on audio and was unimpressed. Well, I think I liked it ok, but when I tried to listen to the next one I was just bored. But I think I should give it another try. I've refined my listening skills since then. And just about everyone I know loves this series even though they are vampires. These vampires are bad. I like the short and tweet! Very too the point. Maybe my comment should be more like that, yes?
ReplyDeleteCaine is awesome, so I would read anything by her.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these but it sounds like they are good. I probably should check them out but I am not sure if I should start another series, I am reading so many! (still going to run to Amazon and check)
ReplyDeleteYay, so glad another great read with this series. You're knocking these out big time Brandi - that's great. I'm glad you're enjoying them : )
ReplyDeleteGreat short and tweet review, Brandi! Reviewing this way is a great idea for series installments because sometimes it's hard to figure out what to say! :)
