Maria never ceases to amaze me with her writing, being so exciting, plot driven, romantic and the surprising plot twists.
I was into it the whole time, always wanting to keep reading, and find out what Avry would disobey and where her instincts would lead her next.
My heart was pounding wondering if against all hope that Kerrick would be alive and that he and Avry could get their happily ever after.
I still love the secondary characters, the monkeys, Flea and his new ability with the added trouble of wondering what is the moral choice and if the good can possibly outweigh the bad with his magic.
She knows how to write an enemy that you just want to hate. They do such evil things, and I never know what to expect from them next.
The ending worked well for me, and I am still in love with the characters. Although I am not sure if this is the last book in the series or not, I mean it gave them an ending sounding ending, but it also left some strings open, and I can't find any info about another book.
My question to you, my lovely readers:
What are your fears?
I still have to read one of the author's books. She is on my TBR list. Great review!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh I need to get on this series! I really loved the first but haven't picked up the second yet. Anyways, I'm planning to read this one soon. Great review :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this series, but I loved her Poison Study books, so I guess I should check these out. Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas, Brandi!

Definitely need to add this series. Sounds great!
ReplyDeleteMaria never fails to impress me either! The secondary characters are always awesome. This is indeed the last book in the trilogy. Great review! :)
ReplyDeleteGood that this is just a trilogy, long series can be exhausting to follow. I skipped this series coz book 1 released at a time where I was wary of YA. My fears, snakes and arachnids!
ReplyDeleteI got so annoyed at book 1 :/
ReplyDeleteThis sounds exciting, I love when a book sweeps you up!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to check out this series for quite some times! Great review!

Brandi- I have read great things about this series. I really will read it one day.
ReplyDeleteThe thing I am most afraid of is something happening to my children. It has always been my biggest fear. It's probably most mothers' biggest fear.
I love some books by this author but I haven't tried this series, I should
ReplyDeleteI think I've only read the first book of this series, I need to reread it and read the rest! Glad you liked this one!
ReplyDeleteI think this is the last one in the series. I really enjoyed it too, I have a review of it coming next week.
ReplyDeleteMy fears: Clowns, centipedes, earwigs, heights, enclosed spaces...etc...etc...
