I'm already a follower! ;)
I can't say I have any "love to hate" characters. If they are a villain, I don't like them period. The only exception is on TV, not a book - Sue from Glee.

Ooh, top five huh? Well, here we go:
ReplyDelete1. Iago from Othello (seriously evil, but so smart!)
2. Saruman from Lord of the Rings - nothing worse than a good guy turned bad
3. Snape from Harry Potter (he is just so complex and intriguing)
4. President Snow from Hunger Games - the man drinks blood *shudder* but turns out he's not the only evil thing around
5. Fernand Mondao from Count of Monte Cristo - stealing the hero's lady while he's in prison? Just. Plain. Evil.
So, apparently, my choices are all just really well done evil folks. I don't really like them because they get my blood boiling.

ReplyDeleteMy picks:
1. Serverus Snape from the Harry Potter series. Cause he's fabulously semi-evil. Also, in the movies he's played by Alan Rickman...nuff said!
2. Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights. Crazy violent nutjob... but I can't help hoping he'll get the girl.
3. Shiva of the Knees from Rushdie's Midnight's Children
4. Aunts Spiker and Sponge from James and The Giant Peach... they creep me out, but I love reading them :)
5. Rhea of the Coos from Stephen King's Wizard and Glass (of the Dark Tower series)
Great challenge! Here's mine: http://she-is-too-fond-of-books.blogspot.com/2010/10/read-thon-mini-challenges.html
ReplyDeleteQuite honestly the only person who comes to mind is Snape from the Harry Potter series. I just do not read books with "bad guys".
ReplyDeleteFun challenge though. It made me think.
