After a nightmarish encounter with a werewolf, seventeen-year-old Adria Dawson loses her sister, but gains the love of a mysterious young man and his legendary family.
Strange and tragic things begin to happen in the small town of Hallowell, Maine: residents come down with an unexplainable ‘illness’ and some disappear. In the midst of everything, Isaac Mayfair is adamant about keeping Adria safe, even from her sister whom he has warned her to stay away from.
As unspeakable secrets unfold all around Adria, impossible choices become hers to bear. Ultimately, no matter what path she takes, her life and the lives of those she loves will be in peril. As she learns about the werewolf world she also learns why her place in it will change the destinies of many.

After a frightening encounter with a werewolf, Adria Dawson loses her sister, but gains the love of a mysterious young man and his legendary family.
--How did you get the idea for the story?
I’ve always been a huge fan of traditional werewolves as depicted in films like Dog Soldiers, Ginger Snaps and Underworld and when I couldn’t find any YA books out there with werewolves like these, I decided to write my own!
--Which character would you most/least like to have dinner with?
I would have to say I’d like to have dinner with Isaac definitely, but I have a soft spot for Harry, too. And I would never want to have dinner with someone like Sibyl because I’d be afraid she’d poison me!
--What are some of your favorite books? Do you still have much time to read?
I absolutely love Carrie Ryan’s THE FOREST OF HANDS AND TEETH, but I’ve recently discovered a great book by independent author, C.L Stegall called THE WEIGHT OF NIGHT. I really don’t have much time to read, but I do it anyway.
--Do you have any other works in progress? Any teasers or release dates?
My newest novel, a not-so-YA-book called DIRTY EDEN will be released around the end of February, or first of March. If you like dark and gritty adult humor, unconventional views and strange, creepy alternate realities, then you might like DIRTY EDEN. Book Two in the Darkwoods Trilogy, KINDRED, will hopefully be released January 2013.

Tough question! I think maybe Neil Gaiman’s STARDUST. It’s fun and fantastical with just the right amount of danger and love.

I like to start with a latte, but the most important thing I need is a quiet, undisturbed house. A few songs that inspired THE MAYFAIR MOON were #1 – ‘Iris’ by Goo Goo Dolls and a great song called ‘Wings of Gabriel’ by an underground band, Arcana.

It’s a toss-up between flight and being able to absorb all information from any book, in seconds (including the ability to learn to speak all languages fluently!).

I love the outdoors: hiking, camping, anything in nature.

I really enjoyed my journey through THE MAYFAIR MOON and knew right away that it would have to be a trilogy. I would love to hear from readers about what they did and didn’t like about the story, who they might want to see more of, less of – I want to know what THEY want. Of course, I’ll always stay true to my original direction, but I might also be inclined to give the readers what they want every now and then if they yell about it loud enough. J
