Dawn Summers is dying. It’s 1853 and as the seventeen year old continues to fade away she has visions of the father she never knew, urging her to fight for her life.
In the small village of Fandova the only medical care is in the form of the mysterious Dr. Moralus who has a known penchant for bloodletting. Thomas, Dawn's fiancĂ©, is warned against inviting his intervention, but feels he has no choice, he pleads with the doctor to save Dawn’s life…whatever it takes.
Whatever it ‘takes’ has some consequences neither of them expected. Now, it’s a hunt to the death, with both Dawn and Thomas determined to win.

interview with Blkosiner's Book Blog

--How did you get the idea for the story?

I’m a massive fan of the vampire genre. I love The Vampire Diaries and True Blood and really wanted to write my own vampire story putting my own spin on the myth. Ultimately, I set out to write the vampire story I always wanted to read.

--Do you have any other works in progress? Any teasers or release dates?
I have another book coming out in 2014 but at this point cannot release any more information than that. I will be keeping people posted through my facebook and twitter though as things develop.
--What book(s) is your book’s “cousin”? (Similar kind of read,set-up or style)
Probably Maggie Stiefvater’s Raven Boys as we adopt a similar writing style in that our stories are told from a third person perspective and can be quite slow to develop as there is a lot of setting the scene. We also both favor a detailed, descriptive writing style over fast paced action.
--What are some of your favorite books? Do you still have much time to read?
I try and read every night before I go to sleep. Sometimes when I’m really in to a book I will read during the day at the expense of my own writing. That happened most recently with John Green’s The Fault in our Stars which is an amazing book.
I also love Flowers in the Attic by Virginia Andrews. I enjoy stories that surprise and engage me.

--Besides writing, what do you like to do in your free time?
My pursuits would be considered quite geeky I think. I enjoy playing games on my PS3 and watching science fiction films, along with shopping trips and concerts with my friends and time spent walking through the Shropshire countryside with my adorable dog, Rollo.
--What is one thing you would tell your 15 year old self?
Things will get better. I was going through a very tough time at 15. I was unwell throughout most of my teens so it would have been nice to know that one day I’d get better and go on to fulfill my dream of becoming a writer.

--Is there anything else you want to add or say to your readers?
Just thank you so much for taking an interest in me and my work.

Lightning round: this or that?
Vanilla or chocolate?
Vanilla
Video or Board Games?
Ultimately video, I’m a playstation junkie and adore any sort of RPG.
Summer or Winter?
Winter, I love getting cozy by the fire.
Edward or Jacob?
Neither, sorry. I love Damon from TVD!
Hockey or soccer?
Neither, I don’t do sports and have never been athletically inclined. I love ballet though does that count?
Ebook or paper?
Hmm…tough. Maybe e-book just because I’m getting a shiny new Kindle for Christmas and super excited to try it out!
Salty or sweet?
Salty. I prefer savory snacks over sweet ones. Pringles are my vice!
Beach or mountains?
Beach, nice and calming to look out at the ocean.
Phone call or email?
Email. If people call me when I’m writing I can see pretty out of it but it’s just because my head has been inside my book for the last few hours and it can be weird to get jolted out of that.
Early bird or night owl?
Early bird, I love my sleep. I’ve even dreamt up some of my books whilst sleeping!
Dog or cat?
Dog.
Messy or neat?
Neat! I’m a total neat freak!
Ninjas or pirates?
Pirates have more allure about them.
