Letter to Teenaged Rival Gates

Dear Rival,

I am writing you from the over thirty years in the future.  Things have turned out a lot differently than you thought they would.  You know that girl Dawn you have wanted to go out with for years?  She was always too preoccupied with her looks and never made time for anybody.  She’s currently living off Mommy and Daddy’s fortune playing “Mirror, Mirror.”  You dodged a bullet on that one my friend.  And remember that girl Yvonne who you always thought was stuck up?  It turns out she had a HUGE crush on you and only wanted you to notice her.  Remember that choice you had to join a new rock band touring small towns up north?  They all turned into drug addicts and broke up somewhere around Sudbury.  You are better off playing your drums for yourself.  You’ll give them up soon anyway.
Now let me take you to the issue of your writing.  None of your friends know you write and only the immediate family is in on it.  I know Dad crumpled up the first chapter of your book when you asked him to read it.  Believe it or not, he just wants you to challenge yourself to be a better writer.  He will never admit it at your age now but he is proud of you and hopes you can do what he never could; write a book.  I know your siblings tell you that you are wasting time writing and you want to give up.  Who cares what they say?  Do they care what you say?  Are you writing this for them?  Of course not.  You are driven by this compulsion to share your stories with the world.  Don’t let narrow-minded people crush your dreams.  Keep on working on the story.  I’m not going to tell you how many times you will revise it because I don’t want to scare you.  You will never think it is good enough but I tell you plainly, one day it will be.
At the time I am writing this you will have published two novels: “Quest for the Red Sapphire” and “Sapphire Crucible”.  They are exciting, thought provoking and pure fun to read.  None of this will happen if you give up writing like you have considered.  This is a great gift you have.  It is like a rough diamond that must be cut and polished to reveal the beautiful gemstone within.  Work hard at your craft and don’t share it with anyone until you are ready to stand behind it.
Mom will be your biggest fan and secretly sneak samples of your work to friends to read because she is so proud of you.  Cherish every moment with her.  You never know when there will be no more to be had.  Dad jumps on board and even your brothers and sister admit they were wrong about your writing.
Sincerely,
Rival

  2. And it from there that we can quickly fendi outlet surmise that this season is going to focus heavily on Toko. That memory has brought up an interesting gucci replica reaction from both as Yumi wants to know what she and Sachiko may do while Sachiko realizes that contrary to her own usual ways, she must replica belts do something for Yumi because things will be changing. In reality, it won be long until Sachiko moves on to the Lillian Women College and is away prada replica more, even if just across campus.
